⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars
Genre: Contemporary Fiction
Format: Audiobook
Narrated by: Hannah Frederickson & Jenny Seedsman
This was my first dive into Sally Hepworth’s world, and I am already hooked. The story is suspenseful, witty and deeply resonant, but the real magic for me was Mabel herself. I am convinced she and I could have been the best of friends.
Her delightful blend of eccentricity, fierce loyalty, and a touch of the wonderfully unhinged felt incredibly relatable. I saw so many of my own quirks, thoughts, and issues reflected in her, and there were so many moments when I found myself nodding along and thinking, “Yes! That is exactly how I would react!”
Mad Mabel managed to be hilariously funny and profoundly heartbreaking, often within the same chapter. It kept me guessing until the very end, and I loved every twist and turn. This five-star read left me eager to explore more of Sally Hepworth’s books.
Audiobook Note: Hannah Frederiksen and Jenny Seedsman did a fantastic job with the narration. They really brought the characters to life and made the story even more enjoyable to listen to.
Have you read Mad Mabel or listened to the audiobook? What did you think of Mabel—and did you love her as much as I did?
