The Hidden Letters is told from two points of view: Isaac, a gardener and Cordelia, the daughter of a wealthy family. The two develop a forbidden love as World War I unfolds.

The book was a little slow for me, and it took some time for me to really get into the story. The characters were well written, and I appreciated the different perspectives, but the story didn’t capture my interest as much as some of the other World War I historical fiction I’ve read.

I’m glad I read it, but over all it didn’t quite hold my attention the way I had hoped.
